The schoolchildren had another day to learn about the LIFE BACCATA project in the form of an environmental education activity aimed at children between 6 and 12 years of age at CEIP La Cortina (Faberas), in León, on November 21.
The activity took place on October 18th and a total of 36 children and two teachers participated in it. They were able to learn about the importance of the yew tree and its value for our biodiversity, as well as the LIFE BACCATA project and the Natura 2000 Network.
They also carried out different didactic activities such as the assembly of a yew puzzle, a game of pairs with the animal and vegetable species with which the yew coexists and, as a third activity, they read different legends that exist around the yews. Finally, they produced a poster summarizing their main threats and the different ways of conservation.
This poster remained in the school as a souvenir, as well as some T-shirts from the LIFE BACCATA project given to children.
