The Natural Park Fuentes Carrionas and Fuente Cobre of the Palencia Mountain will host next Sunday, August 11, the "Interpreted Route to the Tosande yew wood. Jurassic Forest".
The Exhibition "Welcome to LIFE BACCATA" begins its journey in the municipality of Sariegos, León. It can be visited until September 20th in the Town Hall, from Monday to Friday, in the morning from 9 am to 2 pm.
The exhibition "Welcome to LIFE BACCATA" is located in "La Casona", Interpretation Centre of the Biosphere Reserve of "Valles de Omaña y Luna". It can be visited from September 28th to October 14th on weekends and holidays, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Since October 1st, work began on the C3 action of LIFE BACCATA in Galicia. This work consists of a forest plantation with species characteristic of habitat 9580 *. The project aims at increasing the area of these species and consequently at achieving an improvement of their state of conservation.
With the aim of contributing to the conservation of the yew forests in the Cantabrian Mountains, the LIFE project "Conserving and restoring the yew forests in the Cantabrian Mountains" (LIFE BACCATA) has been launched.
The exhibition "Welcome to LIFE BACCATA", extends its stay at "La Casona", Interpretation Centre of the Biosphere Reserve of "Valles de Omaña y Luna" until November 3rd. It can be visited on weekends and holidays from 10 am to 6 pm.
One more day the schoolchildren were exposed to the LIFE BACCATA project in the form of an environmental education activity aimed at children between 6 and 12 years old at the CEIP El Campo (formerly Manuel Barrio) in León.
The environmental education activities of the LIFE BACCATA project reach schoolchildren. The objective of this informative action is to make children in the North of León aware of the importance of yews in our biodiversity, as well as to show them the threats to which these trees are exposed and their possible conservation measures.
