LIFE BACCATA's informative actions arrive at CEIP El Campo

One more day the schoolchildren were exposed to the LIFE BACCATA project in the form of an environmental education activity aimed at children between 6 and 12 years old at the CEIP El Campo (formerly Manuel Barrio) in León.
The activity took place last 25th October and a total of 15 children and two teachers participated in it. They were able to learn about the importance of the yew tree and its value for our biodiversity, as well as the LIFE BACCATA project and the Natura 2000 Network. A BBC video on yews was shown, as well as a presentation on the project and on the Natura 2000 Network.
They also carried out different didactic activities such as a yew puzzle with felt, a game of pairs with the animal and vegetable species with which the yew coexists. As a third activity, the children read different legends that exist around the yews. Finally, they made a poster which summarize the main threats of yews and the different ways for their conservation.
